The BioNT Ambassador Program is a growing initiative that brings together enthusiastic individuals committed to advancing BioNT’s mission through training, outreach, and community engagement. After a successful pilot year with one dedicated ambassador, the program has seen a surge in interest, with ten applications received in its second year from passionate community members eager to contribute. Ambassadors play a key role in expanding BioNT’s reach, sharing knowledge, and fostering connections across diverse networks.
"I really liked how BioNT combined digital training with interactive tools like HedgeDoc as it allowed me to ask questions anonymously and get all my questions answered. As an ambassador, I’ve really enjoyed the community meetings, especially hearing from different training communities and learning more about community management. Plus, taking part in multiple trainings myself has been a great bonus!"
"I'm really driven by the idea of merging biomedicine with the latest technology to transform how we approach healthcare. As a BioNT Ambassador, I'm eager to push forward initiatives that bring these two worlds together, making sure that our tech-driven advances are directly enhancing medical research. My aim is to help build a space where innovative technologies and biomedical strategies come together smoothly, boosting not just efficiency and precision, but improving health outcomes for everyone"
"I really liked how BioNT made the fundamentals of bioinformatics truly accessible for beginners, explaining basic concepts in a way that is easily understandable even by people that have zero experience. I think everyone would benefit from the creation of a community to solve the challenges that data handling poses to researchers, and Valeria Durante moreover it would be important to fill the huge gap in basic programming literacy, as nowadays this is more and more needed in every science-related job . That's why I wanted to become a BioNT Ambassador, and keep on learning."
"What inspired me most about BioNT was its strong commitment to accessibility and open science—breaking down barriers to knowledge by providing free, high-quality training resources. The collaborative learning environment, powered by interactive tools and open discussions, made complex bioinformatics topics engaging and approachable. Becoming an Ambassador felt like the perfect way to give back, helping cultivate a community where curiosity is encouraged, and everyone has the means to learn and grow together."
"Through my engagement in science outreach for the general public, I realized that a major barrier to scientific literacy is the belief that science is inherently too difficult to understand. During my transition from experimental to computational biology, I noticed that many wet lab biologists feel the same about bioinformatics, often viewing it as a mysterious tool that magically generates graphs from raw data. After attending a BioNT workshop, I was impressed by how accessible and easy to follow it was, even for someone without a computational background, and felt such workshops should be shared more widely across the life science community. As a BioNT ambassador, I can help achieve this goal while also promoting cross-disciplinary exchange and open science."
